Lora Thompson joins Radio Spectrum Management

We’re pleased to welcome Lora Thompson, who has joined RSM as our new Radio Spectrum Investigator for the Hamilton region.

Lora comes to RSM with over 20 years of experience in audio engineering, working across live events, recording studios, television and radio broadcasting. She holds a master’s degree in music production and, for the past 8 years, has led programmes teaching audio engineering in the tertiary education sector.

Her career has seen her work with some of the world’s top bands and musicians, as well as on high-profile events for organisations such as NATO and the State Government of Victoria, Australia. Through her work, Lora has developed a strong understanding of wireless technologies and radio spectrum allocation, which she now brings to her new role at RSM.

Outside of work, Lora is the Regional Director of Kirikiriroa  (Hamilton) for Girls Rock Aotearoa, a non-profit organisation that runs music-focused holiday programmes for marginalised youth. She also hosts Soundgirls, an international podcast that provides a platform for women working in audio technology.

We’re pleased to have Lora join the team and look forward to working with her.
