Call for expressions of interest for FM sound broadcasting licences
Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) is seeking expressions of interest by 5pm 30 March 2026 for 2 commercial FM sound broadcasting licences in the South Waikato and Rotorua districts.
Applications have been received for the following FM sound broadcasting spectrum licences:
- RWKMGO - MANGAKINO (South Waikato District) 100.4 MHz, licence ID 431251, reserve price: $4,423 incl. GST
- 42 Paeroa Range (Rotorua District) 106.0 MHz, licence ID 431252, reserve price: $1,359 incl. GST

How to express interest in the licences
- Expressions of interest in these commercial FM licences must be made by 5pm on 30 March 2026.
- Interested parties should email their interest to the Crown Spectrum Asset Manager via crownspectrum@mbie.govt.nz
- Decisions will be made to determine if the licences can be allocated by:
- direct sale, or
- a competitive allocation process.
