Confirm radio licence transfer - Transferee

You can confirm a radio licence transfer after the current licence holder has submitted a transfer request.

What you need to know

We'll send you an email when the licence transfer request(s) have been submitted by the current licence holder. You need to logon to the Register of Radio Frequencies (RRF) and confirm each licence transfer.

You'll need to have your username and password handy.

You need to confirm the transfers within 1 month of being initiated, or they will revert back to the current licence holder.

Transfer roles:

  • The current licence holder is the Transferor.
  • The receiver or proposed licence holder is the Transferee.


This process is completed by the proposed licence holder (Transferee).

  1. Logon to the RRF(external link).
  2. Select the Manage Licences > Confirm Radio Licence Transfer menu. The Outstanding Transfer Requests screen returns a list of radio licence transfers to confirm. They are ordered by Licence ID.
  3. Tick the check boxes next to the licence numbers you want to confirm. Note: You may see outstanding transfers from more than one Current Licence Holder. These display in the Current Licence Holders column. You need to select [Confirm Transfer] or [Decline Transfer] button.
  4. The RRF will calculate any outstanding annual fees. They may be pro-rated depending on your billing month. Look at the 'Fees Due' column:
    • 'Yes' means fees are due and the transfer will occur as soon as the fees are paid.
    • 'No' means the current fees are paid and the transfer will occur as soon as you select [Confirm Transfer].
  5. Select [Confirm transfer]. A pop-up box will ask if you want to proceed with the transfer. Select OK to continue. If there are:
    • No fees to pay, this ends the process.
    • Fees to pay, go to Step 6.
  6. Make payment.
  7. If you have more transfers to complete, select [Exit] to return to the licences listed in the Current Licence Holder column.
  8. We'll send you an email confirming the details of your licence transfer(s) once they're completed. You'll also get an email for each individual licence transfer request.
  9. If you want to see a list of your licences, including those you've accepted via the transfer process:
    • Return to the main menu and select Search Licences.
    • Enter your client number and [Search].
