Power Drive Systems - Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (PIB 49)

PIB 49 is intended to assist all parties involved in the specification, purchase, supply and installation of Power Drive Systems (PDS) in order to meet requirements for Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI and EMC).

Power Drive Systems – Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (PIB 49) is intended to assist all parties involved in the specification, purchase, supply and installation of Power Drive Systems (PDS) in order to meet requirements for Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI and EMC).

PDS are used to efficiently drive and control electric motors and use power converters (also called Variable Frequency Drives, Variable Speed Drives and Adjustable Speed Drives) that can generate electromagnetic energy. If PDS are incorrectly installed, EMI and EMC issues can occur.
