Transfer a radio licence
You can transfer your radio licences to another party at any time as long as your licences are current by completing a few simple steps online. Some conditions may apply.
Both parties are required to complete the radio licence transfer process online in the register and will need to:
- have their User Name and Passwords handy
- know the radio licence number(s) that is being transferred.
Complete the radio transfer process online in the register
If you are not an RSM client or do not have a User Name and Password, contact us for help. Alternatively, you can complete our online client request form to become a user of the Register of Radio Frequencies. You must have an email address to receive your activation code and to receive transfer notifications.
Who is the Transferer and the Transferee?
- The current licence holder is the Transferer.
- The receiver or proposed licence holder is the Transferee
Note: Spectrum licences are transferred using a statutory form (Form 9).
Request radio licence transfer – transferer
If you are the current holder (transferer) of a radio licence and you wish to transfer it to another legal entity (transferee), then you can request a transfer.
Confirm radio licence transfer – transferee
If you are the recipient of a radio licence transfer you will need to confirm the transfer to complete the process.
Withdraw radio licence transfer – transferer
A radio licence transfer can be withdrawn by the existing licence holder (transferer) as long as the transfer has not been confirmed by the recipient of the new licence (transferee).
Withdraw radio licence transfer – transferee
Notification will be sent to the proposed recipient (transferee) of the radio licence transfer if the transfer is withdrawn by the existing licence holder (transferer).
Decline radio licence transfer - transferee
A radio licence transfer can be declined by the recipient (transferee) of the radio licence transfer.
