Register a new spectrum licence
Spectrum licences are granted by the owner of a management right and must be registered in the Register of Radio Frequencies.
Examples of spectrum licences are:
- Broadcasting licences (FM, TV)
- 3G cellular licences
- Managed Spectrum Park Licences
What is required?
An online statutory Form 7 Spectrum Licence is required to be submitted online in the Register of Radio Frequencies (the Register) to register a new spectrum licence. A Form 7 that intends to create a new spectrum licence is not valid until it is registered in the Register of Radio Frequencies
A RSM approved radio engineer (ARE) will be able to apply for a new spectrum licence on your behalf.
When an ARE has certified a new spectrum licence in the Register, a Form 7 will be created. The Management Right Manager (the Manager) will be notified. The Manager will electronically submit the Form 7 to the Registrar for Registration. You will receive electronic notification direct from the Registrar when your licence has been registered – only at this point can you commence transmissions.
