Revision of Table of Radio Spectrum Usage in New Zealand (PIB 21)

Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) has recently completed a review of New Zealand’s radio spectrum allocations and has published a new issue of ‘Table of Radio Spectrum Usage in New Zealand (PIB 21) - Issue 7.01’.

PIB 21 (Issue 7.01) incorporates the amendments to the Radio Regulations adopted by the Final Acts of 2012 World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-12).
The Radio Regulations, commonly known as the International Radio Regulations (IRR) in New Zealand, is a multilateral treaty as incorporated in New Zealand’s domestic legislation by reference in Schedule 1 of the Radiocommunications Act 1989.

Also incorporated in PIB 21 (Issue 7.01) are other domestic changes to radio spectrum usage, including but not limited to amendments within various revised General User Licences and the completion of the digital switch-over for terrestrial television broadcasting.

To supplement PIB 21 a revised ‘Radio Spectrum Allocations in New Zealand’ chart of spectrum usage has been published. This gives a high level graphical overview of spectrum allocation in New Zealand.
