Change a channel to a fixed point to multipoint bi-directional licence

Overview

This process tells approved radio engineers and certifiers how to modify the Channel on the Primary licence of a Fixed Point-to-multipoint Bi-directional licence.

Follow the steps below.


Step by step guide

Step 1

Logon to SMART using your username and password.


 

Step 2

Create a licence application to modify the primary licence channel of the Fixed Point-to-multipoint Bi-directional system.

You can only select the primary licence record to modify.


 

Step 3

Complete the necessary create a licence application steps then go to Step 4 below.

Step 4

Select Copy Licence to copy the existing licence into the modify licence application.

Step 5

Click the red Remove button next to the spectrum record to delete it from the primary licence.

Step 6

Click Spectrum Details Search button to search for and add a new channel to the licence.

Step 7

In the Spectrum Details section click the Ref Freq (MHz) hyperlink to update the power, emission, and polarisation details.

At this stage you can update the Transmit and Receive Location site details on the primary licence by clicking on their hyperlink.


 

Step 8

  • Untick ALL associated licence Retain checkboxes
  • Click the Validate Data button to recreate the associated licences with an appropriate channel record for this point-to multipoint system.

Step 9

Click on the hyperlink of a recreated associated licence.

Step 10

Update the default Spectrum, Transmit Location, and Receive Location details on the associated licence.

Step 11

Click Back to return to the Primary licence.

Step 12

Repeat Steps 9 to 11 until all recreated associated licence(s) details have been updated.


 

Step 13

Click to tick ALL the Retain checkboxes of the updated associated licences then click Continue.

Step 14

Certify the licence(s) by following the Enter Decision procedure.


 

Step 15

Confirm licence by following the Confirm licence procedure.
