SMART tip #8

Change your default view of locations in SMART

All locations in SMART will now show the map, easting and northing in Topo50 format by default. If a location does not have a Topo50 grid reference, SMART will show the next geographic reference type in priority order from the list below:

  • TOPO50 - New Zealand topographic map series
  • NZTM2000 - New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000
  • LAT/LONG (NZGD2000/WGS84) - New Zealand Geodetic Datum 2000
  • NZMS260 (METRIC) – previous New Zealand topographic map series
  • NZMG (LONG REF) – New Zealand Map Grid
  • LAT/LONG (NZGD1949) - New Zealand Geodetic Datum 1949

If you require a different geographic reference type from Topo50 to be your default when viewing locations in SMART, after you logon to SMART you will be able to change the default setting.

1. Select the My Search tab on the right of your screen:

2. This will open the My Search tab. Select My Settings:

3. At the bottom of My Settings you will see Location Settings: Default Geo-Ref Type:

[image] location settings are shown at the bottom of the my settings window.

4. Select the drop-down arrow and select your preferred default geographic reference type:

5. After you have selected your default, just select the My Search tab again to close it.
The next time you view a location, it will be shown in the geographic reference type you selected.

Note
| SMART will remember this setting related to this logon, so that next time you logon you will see your default geographic reference type automatically.
