Low Power FM General User Licence and the report on the associated consultation released today
The new licence permits an increase in transmit power to 1 Watt and the use of RDS emissions. The licence includes a number of new compliance requirements that must be met before the end of a transition period and transmit power is increased beyond the previous 0.5 Watt limit.
The transition period is from 17 June to 19 July 2010. The changes to the licence are discussed in the Low Power FM Broadcasting General User Licence Requirements - Report on Submissions to the Consultation Paper and Conclusions June 2010.
