About us
The Radio Spectrum Management Group (RSM), part of the Ministry of Economic Development, administers the radio spectrum under the auspices of the Radiocommunications Act 1989 and its subordinate regulations, the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001. The following functions are carried out by the group:
- Radio spectrum policy
- Radio spectrum planning
- Licensing
- Licence registration
- Interference investigation (particularly those affecting public safety services and commercial interests)
- Compliance
The Group consists of Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) and Radio Spectrum Policy and Planning (RSPP), and works across six areas:
