Auction Results
Auction 7 was conducted on 8 October with all bidding being received by telephone.
The results were:

The Ministry of Economic Development intends to sell three (3) spectrum licences which are suitable for VHF-FM broadcasting in the Waihi area.
The licences were:

Prospective bidders should obtain full legal and technical descriptions from the Register of Radio Frequencies. Immediate use of licence 12462 and 12464 is constrained by existing short term uses which will be terminated by the Ministry on or before 31 January 2005. These licences will be transferred to the winning bidder immediately prior to the termination of the short term use. Licence 13100 will be transferred to the successful bidder on completion of the auction process.
The auction will be conducted by Dunbar Sloane Ltd at their auction room in Wellington at Noon on 8 October 2004. Arrangements can be made with the auctioneer before the auction for telephone bidding facilities. The licences will be sold individually, and sequentially, by a simple oral outcry auction in order to sell the three licences on the day to the highest bidders. Note that this is a different process to that used by the Ministry previously.
Bidders must register with the auctioneer 48 hours prior to the auction. Any bidder seeking to acquire more than one licence will be required to seek and gain a clearance from the Commerce Commission to acquire both licences prior to the licences being transferred.
