2.5 GHz Managed Spectrum Park

The 2.5 GHz Managed Spectrum Park is designed to facilitate local and regional wireless services, and seeks to encourage a flexible, cooperative, low cost and, as far as possible, self-managed approach to allocation and use of the radio spectrum resource. The policy was developed, with public consultation, through 2008 and 2009, and the initial licences were allocated in the end of 2009. Information on the allocation process and park rules is also available.

Applications are invited to access the Managed Spectrum Park in the 2.5 GHz band

The Ministry of Economic Development has finalised the rules and application documentation on the operation of the Managed Spectrum Park (MSP) in the 2.5 GHz radio spectrum band, and invites applications to access the MSP.

Timetable

The Ministry has revised the timetable for the Managed Spectrum Park, having considered the views received by industry. This is to afford applicants more time to develop their business plans and secure investment funding.
