Attachment A - Available LPFM frequencies during the transition period

The following table identifies the areas/locations throughout most of New Zealand where frequencies are available for LPFM use (white cells), and frequencies where LPFM use is prohibited (shaded cells) during the following periods.

The prohibition of use of frequencies 87.6 - 88.0 MHz is for the period 1 June to 1 October 2010.

The prohibition of use of frequencies 88.1 - 106.7 MHz is for the period 1 June to 2 April 2011.

The prohibited areas include all locations within 50 km of the landmobile sites listed in Schedule 2 of Attachment 2, Proposed New LPFM GURL.
The use of all LPFM frequencies in areas/locations not identified within this attachment and more that 50 km of the landmobile sites listed in that Schedule 2 is permitted.

The restrictions concerning frequencies 87.6 - 88.3 MHz have been based on requirements to protect current landmobile licences.

The restrictions concerning frequencies 88.4 - 88.7 MHz have been based on requirements to protect current and planned VHF-FM broadcasting licences.

The table will be up-dated with the latest information prior to publication of the GUL and located on the RSM web site.
