Digital Futures Workshops

The Ministries of Economic Development and Culture and Heritage held industry workshops on 8 September in Auckland and 15 September in Wellington. The purpose of the workshops was to inform interested parties of the options and proposals outlined in the Digital Futures: Planning for Digital Television and New Uses discussion paper.

The Ministry of Economic Development made a presentation on spectrum planning for digital television and reallocation of UHF spectrum for new uses (the “digital dividend”) after digital switch-over. The Ministry for Culture and Heritage presented the options and issues in relation to the transition to digital transmission for regional and community broadcasters.
