3. Submissions
In response to the Engineering Discussion Paper on UWB devices the Ministry received 30 submissions. These were provided by diverse interest groups and have helped highlight the major outstanding issues that need to be considered further.
The groups who provided submissions include:

Workshops on UWB Devices were held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch on the 14, 20 and 29 of April 2005. Questions and answers aired at these workshops are recorded in Appendix C. The issues raised at these workshops were also covered in various written submissions and are included in the summary.
A summary of the individual submissions to the Engineering Discussion Paper on UWB Devices is provided in Appendix B. With their submissions, some submitters also provided comprehensive details of studies and references which have been a valuable addition to the Ministry's knowledge base on UWB. For the sake of brevity, some of these studies had to be excluded from this report. These submissions can be made available to interested parties on request.
