Review of radio spectrum policy in New Zealand
In 2004, the Minister of Communications requested the Ministry of Economic Development to conduct a comprehensive review of radio spectrum policy. The Review was completed in April 2005.
The purpose of the Review is to inform the Minister on:
- the radio spectrum management environment in New Zealand and its effectiveness;
- the factors that influence that environment; and
- existing and emerging policy issues warranting consideration in 2004/2005 and beyond.
The Review report is intended, therefore, as an overview of current radio spectrum policies and management, and as a mechanism for identifying and prioritising policy issues for future action.
The Ministry is not formally consulting on the Review, but interested parties are free to send comments to radiospectrum@med.govt.nz or to:
