EMC Code of Practice for the supply, installation and operation of power drives systems (variable speed drives paper) – consultation paper August 2011

In response to submissions received to the consultation document released in December 2010, the Ministry has prepared a prepared a further consultation paper that discusses new proposals for the new EMC Code of Practice RSM COP 002 and invites submissions from interested parties on those proposals.

The revised proposed “EMC Code of Practice for the Supply, Installation and Operation of Power Drive Systems (Variable Speed Drives)” (COP) has been reorganised to better separate regulatory and informative aspects and includes many of the suggestions received in response to the December 2011 consultation.

The associated consultation paper includes discussion on the submissions received to the December 2010 COP consultation and some new questions.

The Code of Practice should be of interest to all those involved in the design, specification, supply, installation and operation of Power Drive Systems and should also be of interest to the wider electrical industry.

Submissions to the Consultation Paper close on 26 September 2011.
