PIB 34 Applications and Requirements for Approved Radio Engineers and Approved Radio Certifiers

 

The Ministry of Economic Development has a policy enabling licence applicants to choose who will perform the engineering and certification of licences.

Assessing the technical compatibility of a licence with existing licences can be undertaken either by Ministry engineers or by external engineers approved by the Ministry.

There are two categories of external engineers:

  • Approved Radio Engineer (ARE) can certify both spectrum and radio licences.
  • Approved Radio Certifiers (ARC) can only certify radio licences.
