Approved persons framework

The Approved Persons framework allows approved radio engineers and certifiers to carry out licence certification on behalf of Radio Spectrum Management (RSM).

The Approved Persons framework allows approved radio examiners to carry out examination for operator certificates of competency and issue callsigns on behalf of Radio Spectrum Management (RSM).

There are three categories of Approved Persons:

• Approved Radio Engineer (ARE); approved to engineer and certify Spectrum Licences and Radio Licences.
  List of independent engineers
• Approved Radio Certifier (ARC); approved to engineer and certify Radio Licences only.
  List of independent certifiers
• Approved Radio Examiner (ARX); approved to conduct examinations, grant operator certificates for maritime and amateur operator competence and issue callsigns in certain ranges for the maritime and amateur services.
