My account FAQs

My User ID and Password / Client Key is not working

These are the old login credentials for the previous version of SMART. To obtain a user name and password to login to the new version of SMART please click here.

 

How do I change my address?

You can amend your address online with your User Name and Password. Logon to SMART and then Select "Log on details" then "Change your client details". Once you click continue you amend you address under the icon addresses and contacts.

 

How can I pay my annual licence fee?

On-line renewal payments can be made by credit card or direct debit.

To pay by credit card, go to SMART, log on with the User Name and Password then click "Pay annual licence fees".

Note

If you do not yet have a logon for your client record in SMART, you can request an activation code be sent to you to start the process to obtain a logon. During the setup process you will be able to choose a user name and password of your choice.

To pay by direct debit, you must open a client account.  To open an account call our business service centre on 0508 RSM INFO (0508 776 463).

Note: The process of setting up a direct debit may take some days as it requires client input, if a payment pending, the client may wish to make payment by an alernative method to avoid revocation of current licences.

Payment can also be made by cheque, payable to Ministry of Economic Development, Private Bag 92061, Auckland Mail Centre, Auckland 1142.

 

What is this account for?

If you want to check what is this account for, you can access our on-line payments facility and enter the details specified in the renewal letter.  This will give you access to information about your account.  You can log on to this facility even if you do not wish to make an online payment - go to SMART and click on "Pay annual licence fees".  You can either pay by credit card or direct debit.

 

I need more information about my licence?

You can search by the licence numbers on your reminder letter to view the details of what your licence is for, go to SMART and click "Search licences" then enter the licence numbers shown on the renewal.

 

How do I cancel my licence?

Log onto the website with your User Name and Password at the bottom of the screen at SMART and click "Manage licences" and then "Cancel radio licence".

Note: if you are modifying an existing licence, a new licence will replace the current licence being modified, there is no need to cancel the current licence as SMART will do this automatically upon granting the new licence with the modifications.
