Licensing - ship FAQ
How do I apply for an MMSI number
These numbers are automatically available when you apply to an Approved Radio Examiner for a Callsign, if your vessel plys within New Zealand Territorial Limits.
If your vessel is engaged in travel outside New Zealand Territorial waters or is registered under the Ship Registration Act 1992, you will require an individual licence for it. You may obtain this automatically by applying on line via SMART.
Please contact us on freephone 0508 RSM INFO (0508 776 463) to establish a client record for use with a licence or for further information.
