Reference standards
The primary purpose of Reference Standards is to provide guidance to Approved Radio Engineers regarding matters which must be considered in determining the compatibility between radio services when certifying spectrum licences.
Under section 133(1) of the Radiocommunications Act 1989, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Economic Development, or person acting under delegated authority form the Chief Executive, may issue from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, standards or specifications relating to the performance of:
- Any radio apparatus;
- Radio apparatus of any class or classes;
- Any system for the effecting of radiocommunication, whether by transmission or reception or both.
