Labelling requirements
Provided a supplier has an office or an agent in New Zealand, the supplier can apply to the Ministry for a New Zealand supplier code number on products. A list is available of those persons allocated a Supplier Code Number. The supplier code consists of the letter "Z" followed by a number. (Note: a supplier code, issued by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) to suppliers based in Australia, is prefixed by the letter "N").
The C-tick can be downloaded by clicking on the following image. The C-tick Zip file contains the C-tick in 3 formats: GIF, PCX & TIF.
As an alternative to the supplier code as a means of supplier identification, a supplier may label a product with the C-tick symbol in conjunction with one of:
- the Registered name and address of the supplier
- the New Zealand Company Number of the supplier
- the New Zealand GST Number of the supplier
- the New Zealand Registered Trademark of the supplier
It should be noted that the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) may be used as an alternative to the C-tick. Users of the RCM must comply with the requirements of the standard AS/NZS 4417.
Labelling conditions
Conditions applying to the use of the label on products can be found in the Radiocommunications (Compliance) Notice 2004.
